RESUME
Mission, Vision, and Values

The core to nursing is providing a safe healing environment, maintaining dignity, and instilling trust.
I am currently working as an urgent care RN. During my time there, I've learned that healthcare is more than a job--It's a way of life. When you are dedicated to providing quality healthcare to your patients, drive, compassion, and advocacy come naturally. This is what I am all about. I work to ensure that my patients have the best experience they can as they recover. Each phase of life comes with it's own joys and sorrows, and I am grateful that I can support my patients through it all.
My Vision: to build positive experiences with each patient in the fight for better health
My Mission: to create a work environment where both patient and nurse feel inspired to be and do better everyday
My Values:
-Safety. Providing safe practice to all patients under my care
-Healing. Doing my part to promote healing for both the mind and the body
-Dignity. Ensuring that all patients under my care are treated with respect and humanity
-Trust. Creating a nurse-patient relationship in such a way that my patients will be satisfied and responsive to their care

Obstetrics (L&D and Postpartum) Sept - Oct 2021 126 hours
I worked in the L&D and Postpartum units for 5 weeks. During this time, I learned how to think critically about both mom and baby’s clinical assessment findings. I also demonstrated clinical competency as I participated in daily cares such as medication administration, blood glucose monitoring, I&Os, interpreting tocometer strips, newborn assessments and baths, and postpartum assessments. Throughout this experience, I gained knowledge concerning breastfeeding, laboring complications such as late decelerations and nuchal cords, and lochia--to name a few.
Adult Health and Maternity Jan - July 2021 132 hours
During my clinical rotations at EIRMC, I was able to gain experience
in the Infusion Center, Rehabilitation unit, medical surgical unit, cardiac wing, OR, ICU, and ER. I learned how to effectively communicate with other members of the healthcare team, perform thorough head-to-toe assessments, and safely perform nursing skills. I also learned about the different responsibilities of a nurse on the different units as well as actively participate in patient care.
During my maternal nursing rotations, I gained experience on the Pediatric, Labor & Delivery, NICU, and Women’s center units. I learned a great deal about the care of a laboring patient, newborn, and child. My biggest take away from these clinicals was how important it is to provide timely assessments, medications, and interventions for all patients.
Behavioral Health Jan - April 2021 48 hours
My behavioral and mental health clinicals included both long-term
Adults and short-term adolescent patients. I learned a great deal about caring for patients who struggle with severe mental health issues such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts and ideations. My main take away from this experience was that it is important to provide unbiased, quality nursing care to all patients.
Adult Health November 2020 40 hours
I performed nasal swabs for patients at a COVID-19 testing clinic offered at a local hospital. I developed my foundations for specimen collection and transfer, PPE donning, and professional patient interactions, education, and communication.
Public Health October 2021 84 hours
I became a proactive advocate for my community by performing a windshield survey, identifying community needs, attending hospital boards meetings and city council meetings, planning interventions, and performing community education through a public health fair. I also created educational media including posters, a PSA presentation, and a powerpoint presentation.
Simulations Sept 2020 - July 2021 104 hours
As part of my nursing program curriculum, I participated in simulated nurse-patient interactions to practice my nursing skills, patient education, and emergency drills. I learned how to think on my feet and react quickly to a patient’s declining condition. I also learned how to communicate with providers under pressure and delegate tasks using the 5 rights of delegation. During these simulations, I had the chance to practice the 5 rights of medication administration, providing accurate patient education, and recognizing pertinent patient cues.
Medication administration, catheter placement and removal, IV placement and removal, NG tubes, OG tubes, Tracheostomy care, Oxygen Titration, PEG Tubes, Blood glucose monitoring, Vital Signs, EKG Interpretation, Toco Monitor Interpretation, and other fundamental RN skills.

August 2017- Mormon Helping Hands
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ volunteered their time and resources to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey in the southern Texas region to preserve their homes from the severe flooding. The drive was almost 6 hours to Port Arthur, Texas for members wanting to join in the humanitarian work. While on scene, volunteers spent three days removing molded carpeting, gutting out damaged drywall, and performing any other task necessary to preserve the victim’s homes.
Summer of 2018 - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints “I was a stranger” program
Members of the Church of Jesus Christ volunteered their time and talents to help new refugees learn English and other basic life skills such as cooking and hand hygiene so they could better provide for their families. This program also provided free daycare and activities for the children so parents could more readily learn. Half of the volunteers lead the adults in English lessons and helped to guide them through life skills. The second half of the volunteers helped in the nursery where they took care of children 1-4 years old or in the gym supervising children 5-16 years old.
BYUI Volunteer Connection Tutoring Fall 2019
Volunteered at the Benson drop-in lab for 2 hours every week. Tutored students in BIO 264 and BIO 265 curriculum for the betterment of the future nursing students that attended. Taught every chapter of course material, guided students through their study guides, and answered questions.
